There he is. Newcomer Dacre Montgomery is taking up the role originated by Austin St. John. He’s joining Naomi Scott, who was previously cast as the Pink Ranger, who initially had a little somethin’ somethin’ going with Jason, the original Red Ranger.
I can’t help but post the first response to the above Tweet:
@PowerRangers yall really went for no names eh?

But of course they’re going with all-new faces. That’s the whole point. Do you think Jennifer Lawrence, Shailene Woodley, or Kristen Stewart were who they are now when they started their respective YA franchises?
I like that they’re going back to Red Ranger being the leader of the group, which he was until the Green Ranger saga became so popular that Jason David Frank’s Tommy took over for several years after St. John left the show. Maybe they’ll keep the Green Ranger evil this time…
Go Go, POWER RANGERS on January 13th, 2017.
