LEGO BATMAN gets a non-white and thoroughly awesome Batgirl!!

Caucasian Barb Gordon is being played by one badass hispanic chick, and that’s freaking awesome.

Rosario Dawson will voice Batgirl in LEGO BATMAN. Hard to hate on that call.

Who doesn’t love Rosario Dawson? At the very least, you gotta admit she’s a pro in the comic adaptation game; aside from her recurring role as Night Nurse in DAREDEVIL and the upcoming JESSICA JONES and LUKE CAGE series, she’s voiced Wonder Woman in multiple DTV DC flicks, broke out in JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS, and, oh yeah, made us fall batshit in love with her (and her not-extensive outfits) in both SIN CITYs. She also had a great, grounded turn as the female lead of TOP FIVE last year.

She’s clearly got the strength, spunk, energy, and enthusiasm to make a great Barbara Gordon, one that may serve as a straight “man” to Will Arnett and Michael Cera’s Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder, respectively. Between Cera, Galifianakis as The Joker, and now Dawson as Batgirl, I’ve been super impressed with the voice casting on LEGO BATMAN, almost to the point that I’ve forgotten my trepidations about the project existing at all.

What do you guys think about Gail/Night Nurse/the voice of Wonder Woman/the heel in Stuntman Mike's face as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl?

LEGO BATMAN gives you DARKNESS, CONTINUED DARKNESS, and MORE DARKNESS on February 10th, 2017.
