Hey guys! Horrorella here...
A creepy trailer has been released for the supernatural horror film, THE FOREST, and this may be one to keep an eye out for when it hits early next year.
Directed by Jason Zada, the film follows a young woman (Natalie Dormer), who goes to Japan in search of her missing twin sister, Jess. She learns that Jess was last seen entering the Aokigahara Forest, also known as the notorious Suicide Forest.
“The Forest,” which is set in the Aokigahara forest at the base of Mt. Fuji, tells the story of a young American woman who goes in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared. Despite everyone’s warnings to “stay on the path,” Sara enters the forest determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate, only to be confronted by the angry and tormented souls of the dead who prey on anyone who wanders into the forest.
The setting and its dark history have potential in contributing greatly to this creepy ghost story. I like the potential in the idea of this place capturing hundreds of lost spirits. We'll see what happens when the film hits theaters. THE FOREST is due to open on January 8th.
What do you guys think?
