“Dana Barrett...my Dana Barrett?”
Paul Feig was pretty pissed off that everyone was spoiling the O.G. cameos in his GHOSTBUSTERS remake (though I suspect the news will get more asses into seats come opening day):
Gang, everyone should know that any and all cameo announcements are leaks and nothing we wanted made public. Media, please take note.

I only announced @Ernie_Hudson as a cameo because our set was overrun by paparazzi. I really wanted these cameos to be surprises. Just FYI.

There you have it. Of the core GHOSTBUSTERS cast, they’ve got Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and now Ms. Weaver popping up in the remake that was allegedly going to have very little ties to the original. Of the surviving cast members, that leaves only Rick Moranis…who, let’s face it, was never going to be involved with this thing anyway (though his might be the only cameo that would make some of us jump out of our seat in delightful surprise).
We don’t know who Weaver will be playing, but extra points she’s framed with either a carton of eggs or a cello.
It's nice that we'll be seeing all the old crew again (albeit separately and in different roles), but will the now five cameos peppered throughout the film prove to be distracting, or just the generous scoop of nostaltia to make this all go down nice and smooth?
GHOSTBUSTERS will parade all the cast members you know and love across the screen for a hot second on July 15th, 2016.
