During the second season of “Arrow,” a couple of characters mentioned in passing an ex-STAR Labs employee named Dr. Light.
Now “Flash” showrunner Gabrielle Stanton says we’re going to meet Light.
But it’s not Arthur Light, the supervillain who first menaced Flash and the rest of The Justice League in 1962; it’s Kimiyo Tazu Hoshi, the Justice League member introduced in 1985’s Crisis On Infinite Earths #4.
Hoshi, a Japanese astronomer who went on to collaborate also with The Doom Patrol and The Birds of Prey, can fly and blast evildoers with laser beams.
Lauren Tom (Amy on “Futurama” and Connie on “King of the Hill”) gave Doctor Light a voice on two episodes of “Justice League Unlimited.”
“The Flash,” which zips back to The CW Oct. 6, is adding a lot of classic DC characters next season, most prominently Hawkman, Hawkgirl and Barry Allen’s fellow comic-book Flashes Jay Garrick and Wally West.
