Leonardo DiCaprio to play a turn of the century serial killer for Martin Scorsese?!?!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some rather cool news to share. Deadline has reported that Paramount has nabbed the rights to Erik Larson's Devil In The White City: Murder, Magic And Madness At The Fair That Changed America as a project for Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese.

The story is about a charming serial killer in 1890s Chicago who is believed to killed up to 200 people and is set against the backdrop of the bustling city preparing to host the 1893 World's Fair.

DiCaprio would play the serial killer. Hunger Games, Shattered Glass and Captain Phillips screenwriter Billy Ray is tackling the adaptation.

If this project hasn't already shot up on the "Holy Shit, I gotta see this!?!" meter for you then we probably can't be friends. Can you imagine the level of period detail in something like Gangs of New York, but in a horror/thriller setting?

I'm crazy psyched for this one. You?
