The First Trailer For Roland Emmerich’s STONEWALL…

Here’s a trailer for STONEWALL, from director Roland Emmerich.  Yes - THE Roland Emmerich.  

I like the aesthetic here - aesthetic being one of Emmerich’s stronger points as a director, I suppose.  Although, I can’t help but wonder if the themes and messages of this picture are being presented a little too ‘on the nose’ in this trailer?  As illustrated here, this film feels more like a dramatization one might find in a museum than a nuanced dramatic narrative.  Hopefully the film itself will be more subtle, as there’s a great deal of very interesting and promising potential here…
