Hey guys! Horrorella here...
So what are you all doing this weekend? Yeah, I know you're probably heading out to see ANT-MAN and TRAINWRECK, but what are you doing around midnight? When things have calmed down and the house is quiet? When you're just a little bit on edge because the shadows are looming and even though you know you probably locked the door, you can't help but think maybe you're not alone in the house.
When the darkness falls and it's time to creep yourself out even further, there is a new streaming service launching especially for horror fanatics. People like us who find themselves in this unsettling place and decide to crank the fear up a little further by throwing on THE EVIL DEAD. Or maybe A TALE OF TWO SISTERS. Perhaps SLEEPAWAY CAMP? How about CARNIVAL OF SOULS? BASKET CASE? TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL? THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL? The new site, Shudder, promises to have a little something for everyone to make the wee hours a little more terrifying. And now you have the opportunity to check it out for yourselves.
The service has entered open Beta, and is available for fans to try. Head over to shudder.com and sign up. They are currently offering a 14-day free trial. Subscriptions after that will run at $4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year - not bad. The service is currently available via the desktop version, as well as iOS and Andriod mobile devices and Roku. They are expecting to roll it out to new platforms in the coming months.
The site is off to a solid start with an already impressive collection, which they are planning to expand, along with site features and enhancements, in the coming months. Lead curator Colin Geddes has programmed for TIFF Midnight Madness for years, and has tons of experience selecting all the best fright flicks to chill even the most seasoned audience.
So head over to shudder.com and check it out for yourselves.
