Once mentioned as a contender to direct the next STAR TREK movie (that gig ultimately went to repeat FAST AND THE FURIOUS helmer Justin Lin), RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES’ Rupert Wyatt now looks to be directing the GAMBIT movie starring Channing Tatum.

Produced by Tatum along with Lauren Shuler Donner (the X-MEN movies to date) and Simon Kinberg (the upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR), the 20th Century Fox release is currently maneuvering towards an October 2016 release.
