Hey folks, Harry here... It has been over a year since I had my last report on THE TRIPODS TRILOGY. Most boys were introduced to this series in BOY'S LIFE through their Boy Scout days. This is generally held as being one of the greatest pieces of juvenile fiction... Right up there with the very, very best. Now we live in the HARRY POTTER universe of J.K. Rowling, but for those that remember, the books of John Christopher are... amazing.
Now, when last we heard, they were no longer being adapted by Frank Darabont, who was quite fond of the books, but had differences with the producer, Don Murphy. (CORRECTION: The differences were not between Darabont and Murphy, but it came down that contract negotiations fell through between Frank and Disney) And last I heard Graham Yost was at work writing on the script... But that was over a year ago...
Well, time has passed and due to detective abilities of mine gleaned from many a detective yarn upon pulped pages... I have found that it now looks as if Henry Selick has been in advanced discussions with the production to take over as the director in charge.
Now the idea of this director with these novels... Well, it's great. Hopefully, Henry is going aboard this project and then getting all the support in the world from Buena Vista.
