“If I’m gonna die, I’m gonna die historic on the Fury Road…”
A convoy of gnarly post-apocalyptic badassity roared into Sydney today, there to make a singular statement loudly, dramatically, and in no uncertain terms: MAD MAX: FURY ROAD has at long last arrived.
I’ll have more to say about FURY ROAD in the coming week or so (I’m usually extremely hesitant to throw around the term ‘masterpiece’ - but the more I think about it, the more I feel this term very likely applies to FURY ROAD). In the meantime - here are a few embeds from the presentation. Good God I wish I coulda seen this in person…
You can find one other video, offering a nice look at the flame throwing guitar guy, HERE. Whoever posted it decided to disabler the embed - which always seems a strange move in this day and age, but it’s worth a look all the same.
Meanwhile, the film’s score release hit yesterday. Here’s a sample of the angry gorgeousness which awaits. My favorite track from many wonderful selections…
If you’re checking out FURY ROAD this weekend, be sure to do so through the best projection - and with the best sound - possible. The picture is very much an ‘experience,’ and MAXimizing its impact makes it all that much more amazing.
Finally, if anyone out there knows where I can get my hand on the poster seen at the top of this article, please let me know. I’ve been combing the Net and other sources, but so far have found only one dodgy-ish offering on ebay…
“It was important to us that we made the last real action film. Or, perhaps, the first in a new series of real action films…”
