Apparently the last episode of the Bill Lawrence sitcom “Undateable” was performed live (SNL style) and NBC liked it so much it ordered producers to produce all of its third-season episodes live.
There’s no word at this point as to whether NBC is ordering 13 or 22 third-season episodes.
My thoughts:
1) NBC scored huge ratings when Tina Fey’s “30 Rock” broadcast its hilarious first live episode.
2) The ratings for “Undateable’s” first live episode were not huge (see below), despite the fact that “Undateable” follows “The Voice,” NBC’s biggest hit.
3) The ratings for the hilarious second live episode of “30 Rock” were way lower than those for the first live “30 Rock.” And "30 Rock" was soon after cancelled.
