Jeremy here...

In 2012, Esquire published a short story authored by the father-and-son duo of Stephen King and Joe Hill. The result was "In the Tall Grass", which I've been told by fans of both writers ranks as one of the best yarns they've spun in recent years. I have yet to read the story, but the premise is oddly intriguing in the best King tradition. Via Amazon...

In the Tall Grass begins with a sister and brother who pull off to the side of the road after hearing a young boy crying for help from beyond the tall grass. Within minutes they are disoriented, in deeper than seems possible, and they’ve lost one another. The boy’s cries are more and more desperate. What follows is a terrifying, entertaining, and masterfully told tale, as only Stephen King and Joe Hill can deliver.

So I guess I'm excited to learn that talented writer-director Vincenzo Natali (CUBE, SPLICE and the first three episodes of this season's HANNIBAL that everyone seems to love) is set to make a big-screen adaptation of the tale. Talking with Screen Daily, Natali says, “They have transformed an otherwise innocuous Kansas field into a stage for some of the most disturbing horror fiction I have ever read.” Sounds great. Copperheart Entertainment will shop the project at this May's Cannes Film Festival. Here's hoping they find all the financing they need and more.
