Few filmmakers are able to harness Batshit Fucking Crazy quite the way Takashi Miike can. And it looks like he's going all in for his next feature, YAKUZA APOCALYPSE: THE GREAT WAR OF THE UNDERWORLD.
The film follows a young Yakuza footsoldier whose boss is killed by an assassin. He must then traverse the dangerous and seedy underworld for revenge. Oh yeah - also big boss was a vampire and managed to turn our little underling hero before he died.
That's right - Vampire Yakuza Revenge Story. I will have my ticket now, please.
It also stars Yayan Ruhianthe, that crazy badass we all fell in love with during THE RAID, so that alone should be grabbing your attention. And if you need more, check out the trailer below. No English subtitles, but that kind of makes it better.
The film opens in Japan on June 20th, so hopefully the rest of us won't have to wait too long to see it. In the meantime, enjoy the crazy in this new footage (via The Filmstage).
