Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here with this week's selection of interesting short films I think you might want to check out. Each week we screen a handful of films from all over the globe - sometimes it's primarily horror - others have more drama... This week is an oddity, a mixture of genres from a handful of interesting filmmakers. We've got a dash of science fiction and a healthy heaping of "WTF?" So if you're hoping for action packed insanity, well maybe next week. If you're looking for something unique, then you're definitely in the right place. Let's hop on in!
To kick this week off right we've got an incredibly cool film from Ray Wong. "A young couple, Jack and Sally, discover a strange phenomenon in their backyard that duplicates organic life. As Sally quickly explores all of it's wild possibilities, Jack suffers the consequences." Cute puppies, great acting, slick VFX, and a story that doesn't wear out its welcome - Ray, I'm a fan.
Holy hell is our next film like a bad acid trip of creativity. With a name like "Manicorn," you might be wondering "What am I in for? Some sort of half-man half-unicorn story?" Yes. I think this is a charming muscle relaxer of the mind kind of short from director Jim McDonough. "Psychedelic cautionary tale about a flu-ridden man who essentially crosses the streams by breaking the cardinal rule regarding daytime and nighttime cough medication." If you're curious to see what else Jim has up his sleeve, then head over to his Friday Night Films Facebook page.
Writer-Director Jordan Blazak has our next film. "Unspoken feelings are powerful, and as they build inside someone starting a new life and leaving his old one behind, he must find a way to express himself without ruining something that was once great." It's kind of sad, but incredibly well done.
L'INVITATION AU VOYAGE
Our last film of the day will hopefully adjust how you look at the world - if only for the next few hours. It's a beautifully shot relaxation of a film from an incredibly visual director, Amélie Raoul.
Okay folks, that's it for this week's selection. I hope you were able to check out a film you might not have seen otherwise. I hope to see you guys and gals next week with more films, potentially some on the horror side. At any rate, have a great rest of your weekend and feel more than free to check out some past articles.

BY THE WAY: If you've had a short featured here, that means that I personally am a fan of your work, so feel free to shoot me any kind of news on new projects/films/whatever. I can't say I'll be able to help or in what capacity, but I'm interested in your work and am always down to see more! (Keep making cool stuff, everyone!)
