Hey guys! Horrorella here...
Bill Paxton is an incredible actor, and has had the good fortune of lending his presnce to some of the most classic and memorable films of our generation. It's sort of a general unspoken rule that if Paxton is on board any given project, said project automatically gets a little bit cooler.
THR is reporting that he is currently in talks to star opposite Daniel Radcliffe in the BBC production GRAND THEFT AUTO. We reported last week that Radcliffe will be playing Sam Houser, co-founder and president of Rockstar Games. The film will detail a period of time that saw the company coming under heavy fire for the content of its games, specifically, the Grand Theft Auto series.
Paxton is in talks to play Jack Thompson, an attorney and activist who frequently attacked Rockstar, its founders and the game itself over content that he found questionable. He also led a similar crusade against media and rap music earlier in his career. GTA was the latest in a long series of targets, and eventually he was disbarred for inappropriate conduct.
And as dispicable as the man himself sounds, the casting decision sounds pretty perfect. Paxton is perfectly comfortable playing likeable characters, but he has also turned in many douchebag performances, and I'm sure he'll give Thompson a noteworthy personal that we will all love to hate.
What do you guys think?
You may now commence screaming "GAME OVER, MAN" at the top of your lungs. Because we all know you want to.
