Hey folks, Harry here... and as an actual human Henson Studios created Puppet (I was told that while they crafted me, I still exist outside of the Muppet World... sadly.) That said, my enthusiasm couldn't be higher for the news that THE MUPPET SHOW will be returning to television, by way of ABC! Bill Prady of THE BIG BANG SHOW is apparently writing up the first episode of the planned Variety Show, which never should have left the air. Every kid I knew was glued to the set to watch THE MUPPET SHOW. From the age of 5 through 10, I was addicted to THE MUPPET SHOW, it didn't matter the guest, though they were always a ton of fun! Helping Bill write the show will be Bob Kushell from 3RD ROCK FROM THE SON and ANGER MANAGEMENT, but he'll also be the showrunner, while WILIFRED's Randall Einhorn directing & exec producing... so let's hope for Elijah Wood to show up!
But really - let's think about this. Disney owns the characters, it's on ABC... which means as guests, we'll pretty much be guaranteed every single MARVEL superhero actor, every STAR WARS featured performer, all the Disney Live-Action Animated adaptation performers - and that doesn't even count the stars from other companies, that if permitted, would probably kill to come on the show and take part in the Variety antics and Spoofs that will be pure unadulterated electric mayhem!
Well, if they want a Film Commentating Muppet - I'm on a Rod in their hall of unused puppets...
