Hey guys! Horrorella here...
You probably remember the horrific cave-in that took place at the San Jose mine in Chile five years ago. 33 miners were trapped below ground, and the world looked on and hoped as rescue teams worked for 69 days to rescue them. Miraculously, the entire group survived, and now their incredible story is being brought to the big screen.
Directed by Patricia Riggen, the film stars Antonio Banderas, Lou Diamond Phillips, Rodrigo Sandoro, Juan Pablo Raba, Gabriel Byrne and Juliette Binoche.
Even though we all remember the events and know the story turns out okay in the end, the film still looks to tell a frightening, claustrophobic and emotional tale, detailing the time the miners spent below ground, as well as efforts of the families and rescue crews above.
THE 33 is set for release in Chle on August 6th. No word of a U.S. release date as of yet, but we can probably expect to see it later this fall.
What do you guys think?
