Hey guys! Horrorella here...
Some new details have emerged regarding the latest iteration of THE CROW. We recently learned that BOARDWALK EMPIRE's Jack Huston would be taking on the role of Eric Draven in the new film, but that’s not the only bit of casting news circulating.
In a Q&A session at the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention, creator James O’Barr, who is working very closely with director Corin Hardy on the project, confirmed that DOWNTON ABBEY actress Jessica Brown Findlay has been cast as Shelly Webster, Draven’s fiancé.
Additionally, he stated that the crow itself (which will be created through stop motion techniques) will actually speak to Eric, which is a detail present in the original comics, but was left out of Alex Proyas’ original film. There has been other talk about the film adhering closer to the comics, and leaning away from the turf already covered in the 1994 film, so this likely won’t be the only difference we hear about in that regard.
Needless to say, this film’s production has had a storied past, so nothing is set until the cameras actually roll, but they do seem to be making progress. Will this be the time THE CROW finally comes to fruition?
