Joseph Kosinski Goes Back To The Grid For TRON 3!

Jeremy here...

It's been five years since TRON LEGACY kinda-sorta successfully brought us back to Steve Lisberger's grid, but there's been very little real movement on a sequel. So it's surprising to see Vancouver news site VanCity come roaring out of nowhere with an article claiming that TRON 3 will be shot in Vancouver this fall. Is this reliable? According to Badass Digest's Devin Faraci, it is. Also, he's got a bonus scoop: Joseph Kosinski will once again direct.

Honestly, TRON LEGACY scratched whatever nostalgic itch I had for Lisberger's 1982 film, so I'm not going to get terribly worked up over this one way or the other. I think Kosinski has it in him to be a major director if he ever gets the right material, but, thus far, he's fallen agonizingly short. Since he played a big role in designing the new grid, it makes sense to bring him back. Maybe this time he can bring it all together. I'd first like to know who's going to write this film, which is now half a year away from being shot.

There's no release date yet for TRON 3, but I'm sure we'll be hearing something shortly.
