Hey folks, Harry here... Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, has steadily improved throughout his career for me. I can hardly remember when he played THE TOOTH FAIRY at this point. I think at this point, the number one thing featuring him this year will be FURIOUS 7... but, this very Roland Emmerich-y looking SAN ANDREAS does have me thinking he's gonna need a bigger boat, or a faster boat... or perhaps a rocket launch from SPACE X to hang out at the ISS in orbit. Very curious how this film plays out - I love good old fashioned Irwin Allen disaster flicks - and have enjoyed all the Emmerich disasters for what they were... rides. This looks like a helluva ride, but will it have anything more than thrills & chills? The director is Brad Peyton, who made CATS & DOGS: THE REVENGE OF KITTY GALORE and JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND... Both of those were assignment films that were better than the original films, by quite a bit. Still, they while they were entertaining, most of it has been forgettable. Let's hope he knocks this film out of the park.
