Take a look at this extremely well produced…I guess it’s a ‘fan film?’… based on POWER RANGERS.
The dark and adult-tenored 14+ minute undertaking stars Katee Sackhoff (TV’s BATTLESTAR GALACTICA remake, RIDDICK, OCULUS) and James Van Der Beek (HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, DAWSON'S CREEK).
This is helmed by Joseph Kahn (whose high-end commercial and music video credentials are staggering - plus he directed TORQUE) and it’s produced by Adi Shankar (an Executive Producer on the fantastic DREDD and Producer of the PUNISHER: DIRTY LAUNDRY short film).
While it’s likely miles away from what we’ll get whenever the official Lionsgate big screen adaptation of POWER RANGERS rolls out, this remains an interesting and very well realized take on the franchise and its concept. Perhaps the upcoming feature film might take a few cues from this?
