One of the most talked about films on the 2014 festival circuit was David Cronenberg's MAPS TO THE STARS. The film looks to be an examination (and perhaps unflinching deconstruction) of the living, breathing being that is the Hollywood lifestyle. The film has it all, focusing on actors, therapists, estranged family, child stars, deals, betrayals, sex and a healthy dose of psychosis thrown into the mix.
Really, it's David Cronenberg taking on Hollywood - what more do you need?
While the first trailer showed footage that leaned a bit more toward the empty, hollow side of the human condition, this one picks up the pace quite a bit. Check it out:
I'm looking forward to seeing how he tackles the subject. Ultimately, a new Cronenberg film is always going to be an experience in and of itself, and I'm excited to see what this one has to offer.
MAPS TO THE STARS opens in theaters and on VOD on February 27th. What do you guys think?
