Yesterday in Hong Kong, Anita Mui (Mui Yim Fong) had met Mari Kassar, the producer of Basic Instinct II’s. They has discussed a possible role for Anita Mui in the sequel – a lesbian. Anita Mui can be seen in many Hong Kong flicks, with Jackie Chan, Chow Yan Fat, and Jet Li.
Chinese star Gong Li has been asked to join Guilty of Murder, called the Chinese version of The Silence of the Lambs. Written by Chen Yuanbin, the same author of The Story of Qiu Ju which was played by Gong Li, it tells a story of a shrink (the role for Gong Li) counseling a convicted killer, a young cop, and uncovering more secrets in behind.
Meanwhile, Ang Lee Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi are promoting Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in Japan. According to a Japanese reporter, Zhang Ziyi has become an idol of many Japanese. He said Zhang was smart and ambitious. The promotion has been expanded from seven days to nine days due to Zhang’s popularity. Also, some report has suggested Zhang Ziyi will be on the cover of Time magazine later this year.
The shooting of TV series Korean War, with 30 episodes, has begun. Produced by China’s CCTV, it will feature leaders and of China, The US, the Soviet Union, North and South Korea, Japan and the UK, including Mao Tse-Tung, Harry Truman and Joseph Stalin.
