Better clear your Thanksgiving schedules. CREED will be landing in theaters just in time for turkey day!
Deadline reports that Warner Bros. has secured Wednesday, November 25th as opening day for its ROCKY spin-off.
The film comes from FRUITVALE STATION director Ryan Coogler. The film will focus on Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) grandson of the legendary fighter Apollo Creed (played by Carl Weathers in the original ROCKY series) as he attempts to follow in Apollo's footsteps. Sylvester Stallone will reprise the role of Rocky Balboa, but will be stepping into the role of trainer and mentor to the young fighter. Tessa Thompson (DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, SELMA) will also costar in the film, which is currently in production.
The film will be opening opposite Pixar's THE GOOD DINOSAUR, a currently untitled Christmas comedy film starring Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, THE MARTIAN and MIDNIGHT SPECIAL. I don't know about you guys, but I know what I'll be seeing. Bring on the CREED!!!
