Hey folks, Harry here.... It seems that in Israel at the moment they are preparing to begin shooting on the upcoming spy thriller from Tony Scott called THE SPY GAME. This flick is set to have Robert Redford play a retiring CIA agent, who on his last day in the CIA finds out that his protege has been snagged and taken out of circulation... He launches a personal rescue mission, and I believe Brad Pitt is supposed to be his student/protege. Now, how cool would it be to be in this flick? Eh? Well here ya go....
Dear Harry,
As they say, long time reader, first time responder ....
I'm not sure if youknow but it seems that Robert Redford and Brad Pitt are in Haifa, Israel (a northern port city) making a movie about this area of the world. Below is the only amount of information that I've been able to find thus far on the subject.
From The Jerusalem Post Newspaper, 09-24-00:
"Wanted: 'Extras' in Haifa, for Hollywood"
Haifa is preparing for Hollywood.
Hundreds of people on Friday lined up for hours for the chance to be extras in a Universal Studios production to be filmed there next month.
They were responding to an ad that appeared in The Jerusalem Post and other media.
The movie will star Robert Redford and Brad Pitt.
But Take-2, the studio that is handling the auditions for the movie, said that most of the potential extras were young women and that they are still short of hundreds more extras - particularly swarthy men, up to the age of 80.
Meanwhile a dilapidated building in downtown Haifa has been chosen as the site of the movie which will supposedly take place in Beirut.
Haifa hotels and restaurants are expecting a big boom in business during the filming.
Sincerely yours,
Yoav
