Hey folks, Harry here with some really wonderful stuff from the French Premiere site... They've been gracious enough to give us a heads up that they've just launched online the publicity featurettes on HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS... Now, before you see these you should know one major thing... When they cut together EPK things like this, it is usually handled by publicity units and made to feel sooooooooo sweet and perfect that you are left nearly disgusted. The narration of the two EPKs (Electronic Press Kits), the voice inflection ends high at every pause. If somebody talked like this around you, you'd slap them. THEN... there is the otherside of these two mov featurettes.... The placing of GRINCH moments... I hate when a publicity unit edits like this... They cut into this, key moments of EXCLAMATION!!!! So everytime you hear the Grinch, he'll be SCREAMING!!!! You should know... this is NOT indicative of the character as I've seen in the film. However, these COMPLETELY OVER THE TOP moments are generally perceived by publicity/epk folks as being great punctuation marks to get the viewer excited... However, I believe in this case, the result is quite the opposite... however, the first featurette is.... dazzling... you get an idea of the overall expanse of production design... but believe me, for everyone that is worried that they are showing too much... THIS IS ONLY THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG.... in every single shot of this film... you have an effect. Be it make-up, practical or digital. Oh.. and the TRAFFIC shots are great....
