Nicolas Cage has gone up against just about every adversary out there in his varied career - demons, criminals, John Travolta - you name it. And now, he will be adding Osama Bin Laden to his resume as well. THR reports that he will be teaming up with BORAT director Larry Charles on a new satirical comedy called ARMY OF ONE.
The film is based on a true story of an American construction worker who took it upon himself to conduct a one-man search for Osama Bin Laden, even taking the search as far as trying to sneak into Pakistan and Afghanistan on several different occasions.
The film was written by DRAFT DAY's Scott Rothman and Rajiv Joseph, though, it should be noted that the film is being referred to as "semi-scripted," much like Charles' previous features. It will be interesting to see what Cage does with a more improve-centric format. Personally, I hope he goes full-Cage-crazy.
ARMY OF ONE is scheduled to begin filming in March, and will be released near the end of the year.
