Hey folks, Harry here... Dirtfish just sent in the following report on what is upon the plate of Brian De Palma. Now... here's the thing. Beginning around February or so of next year, my money is placed firmly that Uma Thurman will be starring in Tarantino's Revenge themed movie. And from what I've heard she'll need prep time to prepare for the role... so that would mean she probably would be unable to film this flick till after Quentin's next movie. Which would put the De Palma film firmly in the midst of the STRIKE calendar for the SAG strike.... meaning the film could be delayed... basically... forever.... Personally, I'd very much prefer De Palma to write and direct together again... and hopefully this'll be his next. Here ya go....
Dirtfish here,
The next film from director Brian De Palma will be 'Femme Fatale'. A contemporary noir thriller about a woman who tries to straighten out her life, only to have her past come back to haunt her.
Femme Fatale has been written by De Palma and will be De Palma's comeback film after the awful Mission to Mars! Tarak Ben Ammar will produce the $35 million project.
De Palma and Ammar are currently in talks with Uma Thurman about the lead role!
Brian De Plama directed one of my favourite films 'The Untouchables' but his last two films 'Snake Eyes' and 'Mission to Mars' were really really bad! The sort of films that even Brian LeVant and Philip Noyce laugh at! Considering this is the director that gave us The Untouchables, Body Double, Carrie, Casulties of War, Scarface(which I hate), and Raising Cain, the drop in quality is quite alarming.
De Palma's last film worth talking about is Mission Impossible, and I really hope that De Palma returns to form with Femme Fatale because its not good to see a director of De Palma's class slowing working his way to straight-to-video!
