Michael Keaton is in talks to star in THE FOUNDER, a new film from John Lee Hancock (SAVING MR. BANKS, THE BLIND SIDE, THE ROOKIE) about the origins of the McDonald’s empire. We first got wind of this back in early December.
Keaton would play Ray Kroc, the real-life businessman who encountered the McDonald brothers’ burger place in Southern Californian. He saw potential in their food prep/systemization, became their franchising agent, and the rest is history.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Keaton met with Hancock on Monday, received an offer this week and is in talks to take on the role of Kroc.

We recently learned Keaton is also in talks to join the KONG-flavored SKULL ISLAND, and…as of this morning…he’s nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for BIRDMAN. That’s a pretty great year, and an apparent resurgence that’s long overdue if you ask me.
