Gotham 1.11 FAQ

What’s it called?
“Rogue’s Gallery.”

Who’s responsible?
Sue Chung gets her first TV writing credit ever.

What says Fox?
“Det. Gordon's assignment at Arkham Asylum gets off to a rocky start when the murder of a guard ignites an investigation, leading him to meet Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Meanwhile, Cobblepot continues to build his army. Guest Cast: Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, David Zayas as Maroni, Allyce Beasley as Dorothy Duncan, Isiah Whitlock Jr. as Gerry Lang, Kyle Massey as Mackey, Christopher Heyerdahl as Jack Gruber, Kevin McCormick as Aaron Helzinger, Anthony Grasso as Ganza.”

How does it start?
As Gordon looks on, the inmates of Arkham stage a musical.

Any familiar faces inside Arkham in these days before the incarceration of Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, Catwoman, Poison Ivy and so on?
There’s a fellow with a perhaps Tweedledeeish coif. And another who resembles Hugo Strange. But neither inmate goes by these names in this episode.

Dr. Leslie Thompkins?
A creation of writer Dennis O'Neil and artist Dick Giordano, she made her debut in 1976’s Detective Comics #457 as a former colleague of Dr. Thomas Wayne. “I work in the female ward,” she explains tonight. “I come over when they’re short-handed.”

Is there so much crime inside Arkham that it needs Gordon as its own full-time detective?
Gordon is back in uniform, serving as a guard.

What’s doing with Catgirl subsequent to her kissing 12-year-old billionaire Bruce Wayne?
She stumbles across street urchin Ivy, who has acquired a nasty cough.

Do Bruce and Alfred make it out of the library this week?
The future Batman and his trusty manservant do not appear in this week’s installment of “Gotham.”

What’s doing with the lesbitastic Barbara Kean and Renee Montoya?
“I’m over him,” Barbara tells Renee.

Does Ed Nygma annoy any new coworkers this week?
Nygma is not in this episode.

Does Harvey Dent exhibit a fit of rage this week?
Harvey is not in this episode.

Does Penguin finally kill Fish this week?
No. Fish swims another day.

The big news?
With Barbara busy revisiting her old preferences, it looks for a minute like Baccarin’s character could emerge as a new love interest for James Gordon. But then things get so dangerous in that asylum it looks like she may not survive long enough to find her way to Gordon’s penis.

What else is Fox not telling us?
Unless I missed something, the murder of a guard does not cause Gordon to meet Dr. Thompkins. Also, Penguin does not continue to build his army this week.

Huh! Who writes these loglines?
I do not know.

What’s good?
Ben McKenzie as Gordon. Donal Logue as Bullock. Drew Powell as Fish’s henchman Butch. “Boys! Why the frowns?” “And you’re the only one who looks and smells like a hunted animal.” “Some people.” “I already called them.” “Shouldn’t be too hard.”

What’s not so good?
Jada Pinkett Smith continues to act as if she, and not Camren Bicondova, were cast as Catwoman in this series.

How does it end, spoiler boy?
“Thank you,” says Butch.

8 p.m. Monday. Fox.
