You might have heard, that this past weekend, I screened some movies for the 16th Annual BUTT-NUMB-A-THON... One of those films has gone on to garner some rather extreme attention due to the film being shelved. THE INTERVIEW is a hilarious flick, but the funniest and most kickass SPY film of BUTT-NUMB-A-THON 16 was Matthew Vaughn's KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE! I was concerned that the film could follow HOOPER, simply because HOOPER is one of those perfect Burt Reynolds & Sally Fields movies, but Vaughn did personally pick that film to lead in to KINGSMAN, and I certainly see why. They share a devil may care insanity & charm.
The trailers for KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE are still not quite living up to the promise of the movie we saw. The film is highly stylized, there's a sequence where quite a few heads begin to explode, but I can say with absolute certainty, you've never seen heads explode like they do here. It's euphoric and hilarious! The fight you see taking place in a church... OUTSTANDING!!! The Blade running girl character? Awesome! And Mark Hamill is great in the small bit that he has!
Now, check out this latest trailer and realize... That is NOTHING compared to the movie that follows. Do not miss this movie!
