X-Men DVD Pre-Orders Being Taken' No.

UPDATE!

A little update, DVD Empire contacted me and indicated that FOX has asked all sites to stop taking orders until 9/29. So, you're gonna have to wait unless you've already put your order in.

El Cosmico here, yes, indeed, pre-orders are being taken for the X-Men: Special Edition DVD, scheduled for release on 11-21-2000. The best price I've seen so far is over at DVD Empire, the product link is here. If you find a better price, please post it in talkback.

Notable features include:

  • 170 Concept Art Stills Trailer
  • 10 Minutes of Deleted Footage Plus 6 More DVD-Exclusive Scenes
  • "Mutant Watch" Featurette
  • Two Creature Animatics
  • Cast Filmographies
  • Collectible Booklet
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Hugh Jackman's Screen Test
  • 4 Excerpts of Director Bryan Singer On "The Charlie Rose Show"

Of course, we can expect more than just this, and the disc is Anamorphic, with DD5.1 and 2.0 tracks, but unfortunately, it seems, no DTS track. Also, it seems that Singer doesn't care for doing commentaries, so we won't have one of those either. Damn. Well, it's gonna be pretty damn satisfying anyway.

Also of note to X-Men fans is the release on 10-24-2000 of the X-Men: Phoenix Saga DVD, a compilation from the 1990s X-Men animated television series. Check it out.
