The Newsroom 3.2 FAQ

What’s it called?
“Run.”

Why is it called “Run”?
There’s a memorable reason.

Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to series mastermind Aaron Sorkin (“A Few Good Men,” “The West Wing,” “The Social Network,” “Moneyball”).

What says HBO?
“With Rebecca (Marcia Gay Harden) again tasked with defending ACN in a possible lawsuit, Will tries to protect Neal from the fallout over the DOD leak. Charlie (Sam Waterston) and Leona (Jane Fonda) enter the fray of a hostile-takeover gambit involving Reese’s (Chris Messina) half-siblings, Blair (Kat Dennings) and Randy Lansing (Chris Smith). Sloan fears Don (Thomas Sadoski) may be guilty of cashing in on insider information; Maggie ponders the ethics of eavesdropping; Hallie (Grace Gummer) pays a price for a late-night tweet.”

We know Kat Dennings, of course, from the hit CBS sitcom “Two Broke Girls.” Who is this Chris Smith who plays her twin?
Chris Smith was in a much less successful CBS sitcom titled “We Are Men” with Jerry O’Connell, Kal Penn and Tony Shalhoub.

What kind of insider information is Don accused of cashing in on?
$125 worth.

What does Hallie tweet?
A joke about the Boston bombing.

How does “Run” start?
Reese opens a conference room door for his two half-siblings. “Let me tell you a secret,” he says as they file in.

The big news?
This is a much better episode than last week’s; it is my kind of episode. It takes itself seriously but it’s packed with funny that works.

What else is HBO not telling us?
Tonight’s episode introduces Mary McCormack, who played hot CIA agent Kate Harper on “The West Wing,” as a hot FBI agent. Paul Leiberstein, who played Toby on NBC’s “The Office” and recently joined “The Newsroom” as executive producer, is highly entertaining this week and next as a deputy assistant EPA administrator who gets himself in a fix.

What’s good?
Olivia Munn. Kat Dennings. Alison Pill. Marcia Gay Hardin. Paul Lieberstein’s reading of “Is this a trick?” 212 degrees. Lawyer Rebecca Halliday generally, and her remembering McCluskey was accompanied by The Turk (and not Barzini) in particular. “And now when you go to work you put on make-up, just like me.” “That was bound to happen.” “That’s one way of looking at it. It’s a stupid way.” “It’s not a good enough score to get you in the PTA.” “All you could eat was sorted soy?” “But that’s what I’m gonna do.” “Cliché buster! I’m good at math!” “I looked around!” “I don’t understand the question.” “I knew going in that was a possibility.” “I just don’t understand.” “Tell me about it.” “You probably shouldn’t wait that long.” “I didn’t sell my clothes.” “Ah ha HA HA!!” Much, much more.

What’s not so good?
Neal’s transition from Will’s timid lackey to Will’s angry ethics professor almost gave me whiplash.

How does it end, spoiler boy?
“He works over there.” And then we see what’s on the menu.

9 p.m. Sunday. HBO.
