Hey guys! Horrorella here...
This sounds awesome! Park Chan-Wook has established himself as a phenomenal director, both in Korea, with such monumental films as OLDBOY, as well as here in the states, with the incredibly haunting and beautiful STOKER. According to Variety, his next English-language film will be a science fiction story from a script by David Jagernauth.
The film is SECOND BORN, and will tell the story of a future wherein consciousness is stored on neural implants, which can be removed and downloaded into new bodies. This naturally leads to a black market of body swapping, as different personalities can be transplanted into new hosts or carriers.
At this point, it's unclear when this project will officially go into production, as Park's next feature has been announced as a Korean adapation of Fingersmith, which is scheduled to begin shooting in early 2015. Whenever it happens though, I will be psyched. Park is a tremendously talented director, who gravitates toward incredibly fascinating and twisted tales. I will line up to see his take on a body-swapping science fiction tale any day.
What do you guys think?
