Since the very moment that Sam Raimi came on board SPIDER-MAN, the Bruce Campbell for Aunt May, Bruce Campbell for The Lizard, Bruce Campbell for Spidey, Bruce Campbell for Doc Ock, Bruce Campbell for Green Goblin... and on and on and on began to surface.
Most recently, Dark Horizons mentioned the rumor that Bruce would have a cameo as a character that we comic fans would know would evolve into a villain in a future film. Sort of like the original plan for Billy Dee Williams in BATMAN.
But because we know the rabid enthusiasm for creative casting rumors concerning Bruce Campbell... I decided to run this by Bruce and see what I could find out.
First off, he's still busy editing up his documentary which he says will be spit polished late this fall. As for the most recent SPIDER-MAN rumors? Here's what Bruce had to say on the matter...
"With regard to Spidey, I'm hearing rumors too, even from pals, but I have
heard no 'official' thing...stay tuned!
" -- Bruce Campbell
OOOOO... KKKKKkkk....
This is not a denial, but rather an allusion that something is in the wind.... but nothing final at the moment. This will most likely cause many people frenzied attacks of hopeful anxiety till they hear the final yea or nay. But it sounds like it is at least... a possibility at this stage of the game....
