Ok, you've all heard about the Emmerich & Devlin's multi-year deal at Sony. Right? Well, let's see. Right now on the ol Centropolis Slate-A-Rama Roland and Dean have approximately eight projects that they are going to try to usher in over at Sony.
Their next project is a subject matter that the two of them just came up with, that they will write in June and shoot in December. It's a secret. Shhhhhhhhhhh... Hmmm. Ok spies, I hate secrets. Remember Ben Kingsley in SNEAKERS. Yeah. That me. What is the mysterious December film. Hmmmmm.... think think think...
They've got some sequels (see GODZILLA - of which there will be two), an old project which I've heard they just bought back from their old days at Carolco (Ok folks, hop to it, what is the project after Universal Soldier at Carolco a few years back), a couple of new things all together (ok, we need info!), a historical epic drama (Let's find out which one!) and possibly the Sony Bond movie (if litagation allows. Hey, let's find out about this too!).
What happened with FANTASTIC VOYAGE? Well, I'm told that they would love (with capitol L) to do it, but it's at Fox, and they need to be able to do it at Sony. So unless Fox was wiling to co-produce (which after their... blunder with Titanic ain't very likely) well, then Fantastic Voyage is dead or moving to someone else.
So what is next? What is this mysterious December shoot? What just entered their minds? We'll have to use those Seti Alpha Five earwigs from Hell, but I think it can be done. My email box is open and awaiting the spy that knows it all.
