Live in Chicago? Capone has seats to an early screening of BIG HERO 6!!!

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.

I had the great pleasure recently of seeing the new Walt Disney Animation film BIG HERO 6, and I’m a little in love with it. Loosely based on the 2008 Marvel Comics limited series of the same name (although I believe the team debuted in an issue of Alpha Flight, and the film does not carry the Marvel logo at the front), the film reinvents the origins of the team but keeps many of the character names the same (minus the ones that Disney/Marvel doesn’t own the rights to). Instead of being a pure superhero team, Big Hero 6 is primarily made up of a group of college-age science geeks who each use their specialized tech knowledge to create costumes, weapons and powers to fight an evil force. In other words, it’s a action-packed celebration of intelligence. Yay!

The film is funny, charming, moves at a terrific pace, has a great villain, and is set in a place that will look strangely familiar to those who live in San Francisco or Tokyo. It’s almost a shame this film didn’t come out earlier this year, because I can see a lot of kids being inspired by the heroes of BIG HERO 6 for Halloween costume ideas. Next year! Anyway, I’ve got a whole lot of seats for an early screening of BIG HERO 6 for winners and their family (I’m allowed up to three related guests for this screening). Here’s how to win…

The 3D screening of BIG HERO 6 will take place on Saturday, November 1 at 11:00am (please note the weekend date and early screening time) at a theater in downtown Chicago (the exact location will only be given to the winners).

To win, send me an email at BigHero6@aintitcoolmail.com (please note the new email address) with the subject line “Hello, I am Baymax” (exactly like that). In the body of the email, I need your full Name, how many guest you are bringing (each winner may bring THREE additional, confirmed, related guests--if I think you gave your extra tickets to someone trolling for free tickets at the theater, you won't get in), and the answer to the following question: “What is your favorite robot in a movie, and why?" I need a film title, the robot’s name, and a detailed reason for your choice. Keep your responses BRIEF--no more than 75 words (no matter how tempted you are to go over the limit). Best answers (as judged by me) win, and you'll hear from me soon if you won, so check your email over the next few days!

Although this is not an exclusive Ain't It Cool News event, winners’ seats will be reserved until 15 minutes before showtime (meaning 10:45am). The venue is deliberately overbooked to guarantee a full house. If you can't arrive by 10:45am, don't enter this contest. If you show up at the last minute, there is no guarantee that your seats will be good or together. If there's even the slightest chance you or your guest will have to back out of attending or arrive late if you do win, don't enter. If you have a job that might make you late or unable to attend, or an ill/pregnant relative, or a temperamental significant other, or a scratchy throat, do not enter. And the 24-hour-notice-to-cancel rule is done. If you win and don't show up, the Black List is your new best friend.

Good luck, everyone! And thanks to the Open Road Film for giving us this very cool screening and bringing these great guests to Chicago.
