Sean Bean has joined the cast of THE MARTIAN, a Ridley Scott-helmed survival thriller which finds Matt Damon stranded and struggling to survive on a Martian colony.

Bean will play a NASA flight director.
Based on a novel by Andy Weir (see Copernicus’ interview with Weir HERE), the film also stars Kate Mara, Jeff Daniels (yay!), Jessica Chastain, and Kristen Wiig.
To the best of my knowledge, this is still on track for a November 25, 2015 release.
And, remember, Don’t Kill Sean Bean! Maybe he’ll stay nice and safe in a secured Mission Control room, although I suppose a light could fall on his character, or a headset could electrocute him, or he could slip on spilled coffee, or something…
