Here’s a new launch trailer for CALL OF DUTY: ADVANCED WARFARE, due in stores November 4 (a “Day Zero” edition will get you into the action one day earlier, along with offering a few extra goodies as well. Details on Day Zero HERE).
This is a gorgeous trailer - one suggesting a game which is a hellva lotta fun. They haven’t exactly conquered the ‘uncanny valley’ in regards to Kevin Spacey’s appearance here, but I’m not sure that doing so is required to make this game work.
Much is being made of AW’s introduction of Exoskeleton/Power Suits to the COD universe - a move which promises a wider variety of gameplay possibilities, and should open up maps in a number of ways.
Reversely, I’m wondering if this is will reinvigorate the franchise as much as intended, given that TITANFALL (and DESTINY, in a different way) have already treaded over some of the same territory. Or, perhaps COD’s spin on the conceit will be unique enough and potent enough to feel unique and as fresh as hoped for?
We’ll see soon enough. And, given that this embed has received over 5 million views in less than 48 hours of its release, I'd say interest here is considerable...
