UNBROKEN is a film you are probably going to be hearing a lot about over the next few months. And with good reason - with Angelina Jolie directing a film from a script that the Coen brothers contributed to, starring the much talked-about Jack O'Connell, there is a lot to be interested in here.
All of that, on top of an inspirational, stranger than fiction true story. O'Connell portrays Louis Zamperini, an Olympic athlete and World War II hero who was held in a Japanese POW camp after his fighter plane went down in the ocean. He was held for two years under horrific conditions, before finally being set free as the war ended.
Earlier trailers have focused heavily on his imprisonment, and while that is still featured prominently here, this trailer also incorporates more footage of the crash and the subsequent raft survival, before the soldiers are picked up by the Japanese.
It definitely looks like a harrowing tale, and one that could offer the opportunity for some great moments from O'Connell. The film opens on December 25th.
