During Time Warner Investor Day, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara revealed the upcoming slate of Warner Bros superhero/genre titles. The list is extensive and filled with interesting details.
2016:
BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE (previously announced for March 25, 2016)
SUICIDE SQUAD (August 5)
LEGO NINJAGO (September 23)
FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM (HARRY POTTER spin-off) - November 18.
2017:
LEGO BATMAN (recently announced HERE) - May 26.
WONDER WOMAN solo film (she’s introduced in BATMAN v SUPERMAN) - June 23.
JUSTICE LEAGUE PART ONE (Affleck, Cavill, Amy Adams - Zack Snyder directing) - November 12.
2018:
THE FLASH (solo, starring Ezra Miller as The Flash) - March 23.
AQUAMAN (Jason Momoa) - July 27.
LEGO MOVE Sequel - May 25.
The second of three FANTASTIC BEASTS movies - not yet dated but in 2018.
2019:
SHAZAM (Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam) - April 5.
JUSTICE LEAGUE PART TWO (Zack Snyder helming) - June 14.
2020:
CYBORG (solo, starring Ray Fisher) - April 3.
GREEN LANTERN (reboot) - June 19.
Evidently, there are standalone BATMAN and SUPERMAN films in the works as well, although no further information is offered at this time.
Ambitious? Yep. Will these stand alone titles work for heroes we’ll first meet when they’re jammed into a JUSTICE LEAGUE context? Or will it all feel off-kilter and wonky? How will any of this play in light of this week’s earlier news regarding the Marvel movieverse?
It’ll be fun, and interesting, to find out.
