Paulie, A Parrot's Tale

Ummmmm, I'm sorry. I know this sounds like an incredibly stupid project. I mean, when I hear the title, 'Paulie, A Parrot's Tale', I think... "Wow, a movie about Adriaaaaaaaaaaan's drunk brother that can't stand the success of her pugilistic brother, so he sells his soul to Robert Newton who rolls his eye and says, 'Arrrrrrrrrr'. He defaults on the deal, becoming Robert Newton's Polly (spelled Paulie) that wants a cracker (stupid white person to pet him)." But then, maybe it's just me. Anyway here's Long John Silver's scoop....

Dreamworks used my family's old Victorian house for some scenes of this movie, which we hear will be released in March. It sounds really awful - a movie told from a parrot's point of view, about a parrot and a little girl who are separated, and what the parrot does to get back to her. We're all just waiting for a glimpse of it, to see how the old place looks in its studio incarnation (summer and artificial winter, with phony meadow and stream). Do they premiere heart-warming family type pictures? (Personally I don't do "heart-warming" if I can help it!) Is there any way we can find out if it's going to be shown anywhere, anytime soon? Since their first try at family entertainment - Mouse Hunt - bombed, maybe this will end up on a shelf. So we're all waiting impatiently, but I thought you might have sources we could check on.

Ok folks you heard him, what's the scoop on the Parrot Pic? What have you heard, seen, etc? This is a kiddie film inevitably, so get to me. Them younger geeks need something to feed on, hopefully this is a project of the same level of coolness of... THE BORROWERS which is still in theaters, take your kids, I loved it!!!
