The upcoming seventh season of sitcom “Nurse Jackie” will be its last, Showtime announced Wednesday.
Star Edie Falco’s last series, “The Sopranos,” only lasted six seasons but “Jackie” will have produced slightly fewer episodes owing to shorter seasons.
Production began this week on the final season, which will likely start airing in April.
Falco won an Emmy in 2010 for her portrayal of the pill-loving, sourpuss medical professional who likes to scold.
