Coen Comedy HAIL, CAESAR Adds Tilda Swinton, Ralph Finnes and Channing Tatum!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

All you have to do is say "New Coen Brothers film," and I will be on board. The Coens are, by and large, some of the best filmmakers working today, and the fact that they are working on a new film is always a cause to celebrate. The new film is called HAIL, CAESAR, and will be a comedy set in Hollywood in 1950's. The film will follow a fixer who works for the studios to protect the stars of the day.

Add to that the fact that we already know that they will be reteaming with stars George Clooney and Josh Brolin? Sweet! That's awesome! Two extraordinary actors who already have a fantastic track record with the Coens. How could this get better?

I'll tell you!

THR has just announced that they will be joined by Tilda Swinton, Ralph Finnes and Channing Tatum. Word is that Tatum will be playing a Gene Kelly-like star, Finnes will play the role of a studio director names Laurence Lorenz, and Swinton will portray a Hollywood gossip columnist.

This will be Swinton's second role in a Coen film (the first was in 2008's BURN AFTER READING). Finnes and Tatum are currently Coen virgins, and it's exciting to see them joining the team.

It's no huge surprise that the Coens are securing this level of talent for HAIL, Caesar - their films always incorporate incredible performances from a talented cast. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this comes together - particularly with Swinton as the Hollywood gossip monger. Sounds like this story could be a blast.
