“Last Comic Standing,” back after a four-year hiatus, handily won its timeslot and was the almost-biggest broadcast last Thursday, second only to a repeat of CBS blockbuster “The Big Bang Theory.” “Comic’s” 1.7 in the key demo is a figure NBC rarely saw on Thursday nights during the 2013-14 regular season. By comparison, a new installment of “Rosemary’s Baby” only hit a 1.0 the prior Thursday.
The debut of “Gang Related,” from the writer of the five most recent “Fast & Furious” movies, earned a dismal 0.9 and came in both behind “Last Comic Standing” and a repeat of “Two and a Half Men.”
With everything else on CBS a repeat, already-cancelled “Bad Teacher” hit a new personal low of 1.1. The network announced that it is shelving the remaining new episodes and will not air them this summer.
ABC’s “Black Box” hit a new personal low of 0.8, so don’t look for that to return next year.
