Hey folks, Harry here... man, this just sounds... ummm, awful? Yeah, that's the word. I hate to hear it because those early HELLRAISERS (1 and 2) rule the underworld. Now though it sounds as though it is... lackluster. Bummer. Anywaysss... here's Jaime who risked cornea damage and damaged ear drums to bring you this report...
Harry, I just saw the new Hellraiser movie entitled Hellraiser: Inferno (which is part 5 in the series). Can I just tell you what a piece of crap this film was. The movie is basically a direct to video sequel that makes Wishmaster 2 and Candyman 3 look like Lawrence of Arabia and Citizen Kane.
The movie starts off terrible b/c the music isn't even the original Hellraiser theme, its some cheap soundtrack that maybe some junior high school kid did on a keyboard. The storyline is Christmas Carol meets Bone Collector as Craig Sheffer (from Nightbread, an underrated Clive Barker film) plays a crooked cop who does drugs and cheats on his wife ala Bad Lieutenant.
He finds the box and accidentally opens it up, pulling himself and his whole world into hell as Pinhead plays his savior almost! Doug Bradley has reported that he is only in the film for 5 min. and admits the film is crappy. Well it sure is and Pinhead is in it for maybe 2 or 3 minutes! The whole film looks cheap all the way down to the computer effect Cenebites to the atrocious cinematography. As I am watching this I am watching this I am realizing that Hellraiser: Bloodline is slowly turning into a masterpiece. Nothing can save this film. It is a TV movie with a few F words and some gory aftermath deaths. Trust me, the Hellraiser series is now dead! It's soul has been torn apart.
