Hey folks, Harry here with some damn fine news for us SEVEN fans... seems that the fantastic teaming of Darius Khondji and David Fincher will again be a reality when Fincher starts his cameras rolling on PANIC ROOM... Rich colors and deep dark dark blacks will be the tones du jour, and I likes em that way... here's the latest from Edinburgh...
dear Harry,
I have some news which i think will be of great interest to Fincher fans, or those who thought Se7en was the most beautifully shot film of the last ten years. Last night Darius Khondji, the d.p god, took part in an on-stage q+a, show'n'tell event at the Edinburgh Film Festival. During the course of a fascinating 2 hour event he happened to mention that his next project would be to work again with David Fincher. Later on he revealed that he is also set to work again with production designer Arthur Max, the british genius who designed se7en and ,more recently, Gladiator.
After the main event a few of us psycho fans were standing around genuflecting at the great mans feet, and he confirmed to one of them that the next film was Panic Room and that he would be in L.A for the next six months working on it.
So it now seems definite that Fincher's next work will be the Panic Room. I know that Moriarty said that the script was pathetic and that he should do Passengers, and the general word on the Koepp script does seem poor, but it doesn't matter now. To Fincher fans this latest news is comparable to the Beatles reforming; Fincher, Khondji and Max working together again. I am happy.
yours fathfully,
simon
