This Week's SATURDAY SHORTS: Zombies, Comedians, and all things NSFL!

Hello ladies and gentlemen, your pal Muldoon here with this week's selection of rockin' shorts that are sure to blow your face off (fingers crossed). This week we've got a lovely arrangement of horror, sci-fi, and comedy. It's a genre fest of fantastic proportions with all sorts of great films created and submitted by fellow AICN readers like you and me. I'm not sure about you all, but I've had a damn fine week full of all sorts of great things falling into place, so I'm glad I'm able to cap it off with sharing what I think are quality films with you guys and gals. On that same note - next weekend I'll be out in Los Angeles with a decent amount of free time, so if any of you AICN readers have anything going on, then hit me up! Shooting a no budget flick? Working on some big studio shindig? I want to swing by and see folks kicking ass behind the lens! Get at me. (Mike@aintitcool.com) In the mean time, let's hop on into this week's picks!

Go grab yourself some popcorn, lock your kids in a closet, kill the lights, relax and check out this little weekly film fest we've got ourselves here:

CHOMP!

TRT: 4:10

Russell Noon kicks this week off right with his short, and... sweet film about zombies. It's got a twist, which makes it just a tad tricky to intro, but rest assured it's worth the four minutes of your time. Keep them coming, Russ! Check out the directors' website, and the producer's while you're at it!

NSFL

TRT: 2:47

Up next is a dip into the creepy side of the internet. Will Higo gives us a story to close our laptops to, a freaky tale of what happens when you keep digging into the disturbing side of the internet. "A modern day urban legend. Kerry is always being sent the latest freaky picture, video or meme from Mellie, though this time - it's something altogether more sinister...  A story to be whispered between school children, to haunt the message boards and serve as a warning for the curious...."

IN THE BLACK

TRT: 13:20

Boom! Next up is a space adventure from Vincent Talenti. The film was originally created for Ridley Scott's "Your Film Festival" back in 2012. "After realizing not everything is lost, a Lieutenant is determine to regain control."

EVERYONE'S A COMEDIAN

TRT: 9:32

Stand up comedy, now that's a profession that takes balls. "Hello, my job is to make you laugh." Yikes! Putting yourself out there for folks to get giggly too? Not for me, especially given how many creepers there are out there. Well, Aaron Word and company have whipped up quite the fun film here. You'll laugh... you'll cry... you'll - wait, you probably won't cry, but this is a pretty fun film worth checking out!"A short comedy-noir film about a lonely comedian and the gentleman that stalks him."

ZENITH

TRT: 8:24

Fergal Costello is about to send us out on a high note with his space story. " Zenith deals with an astronaut adrift in deep-space following some unknown catastrophe. Drifting alone, and with oxygen running scarce, the astronaut begins to reflect on the wife he has left back on earth. Someone who's side he should not have left in the first place. Transfixed by a nebula, the astronaut accepts his fate, deeply regretting leaving his wife when she was at her most vulnerable."

If you have a short and think it belongs here or are on the fence about whether to send it in, please do send it in - I'd love to see what you've put together. I've already seen hundreds of fresh new filmmakers' shorts and like any good addict, I need more!

Shoot me an email at "Mike@aintitcool.com"

In the subject line include:

“SHORTS” + “Your film’s name” + “The film’s genre”

Then, in the body of the email, please include a synopsis of the film and any contact information you might think I need or would want published. The more info you send my way, the more info there is to put with your short.

Please don’t feel the need to submit multiple times.

Remember, the filmmakers might still be in the audience, so feel free to share your thoughts in Talkbacks below. (JUST DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE). I picked them, so you know I think highly of all of these, but how about you fine folks? How'd you like 'em?

BY THE WAY: If you've had a short featured here, that means that I personally am a fan of your work, so feel free to shoot me any kind of news on new projects/films/whatever. I can't say I'll be able to help or in what capacity, but I'm interested in your work and am always down to see more! (Keep making cool stuff, everyone!)
