Hola kemosabes, Harry here with a brief bit of info from Ye Meng, our eyes and ears in and around China. This time he's picked up upon a project that sounds... well it sounds pretty cool from the small amount of info we have here.... I'd like to know more... personally, but here we go...
Hi Harry!
Ye is here.
WWII epic Purple Sun is under production in China. Set in the Northeast of China (the so-called Manchuria), it tells a story of three soldiers, one Chinese, one Russian and one Japanese, during the last day of the war (August 15, 2000?), when the Soviet troop attacked the Japanese. The film will recreate the scenes of American aircraft carrier, and tank battles between the Russian and the Japanese. Nick named War Drum, director Feng Xiaoning is a veteran war filmmaker.
